New Response notification flag?
This is probably too unwieldy but, could you somehow allow a user selected flag to be set that will notify the user on login that a response to the selected post has been made? Perhaps a link on the main page that jumps to the reply.

Something like---

Your post, "Blah, blah, blah", number 9999999<-(link) has a reply.

There are occasions that I would like to be able to see the answer to a burning question ASAP.

please provide instant gratification. :-)

New How 'bout you just bookmark your user page?
Check [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/user?userid=155|http://z.iwethey.org...r/user?userid=155] ; it says "Response notification flag? 1 reply".

Yeah, of course you'd have to remember how many replies there were *last* you checked it...

The wheels of progress keep steamrolling

New User page? I have a user page?
who'da thunk it. :)

That should do the trick. Not quite the way I envisioned it, but it'll do the job.
