New Apple ships journaling file system
Update 10.2.2 includes a number of enhancements including a fully journaled file system written by the guy who did the file system for BeOS. Journaling is disabled by default but can be enabled from the terminal via "sudo diskutil enableJournal /"

This will slow file system performance by about 20% but provides faster recovery in case of crash. Big win for servers, maybe not so critical for clients.
I am out of the country for the duration of the Bush administration.
Please leave a message and I'll get back to you when democracy returns.

I've found if I press just the right spot on the base of the laptop while it's running, eCS will crash.
