So far my 3 installs working well (given What is 'working'). Set -lite for first level below full-bloat, no IE: gets rid of lots of redirect detritus - makes a leaner, faster op. (brief compare from an initial 98-original install = noted speed improvement, but no #s before wiped for SE)

-lite works for Merde too. At least if you wipe it and have 98 disks - you needn't lose your data as with these diabolical 'recover' excuses for: the OS YOU BOUGHT. If you can get -SE drivers for the laptop too, that is. MErde seems an immediate Dead end.. and flaky DOS too? (which I need for getting old .dlls out of \\sys !)

(I wonder how many have had the guts, on being told they get no real OS disk with their computer - to say, "cancel the order." ??) When will the movement begin?

Now I'll find out about W2K first hand. Quake in boots, Billy: The World Shall Know.. (Maybe will finally toggle me into Debian install mode + local tutor)

Luck,
A.
