Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Or, you could do this.
I do it this way: VMWare for the "toy" operating systems from Redmond and boot Red Hat all the time ;-)

After all, Microsoft Windows is just an application isn't it? I mean, nobody seriously uses that for any real purpose do they?
New Re: If I could slide MS out the door at work I ...

WOULD (cheerfully) - Have contemplated that many times - but reality in our business is that MS lies win over reality & we have to support that env.

As someone who was the lead writer on IBM's first Linux redbook (to the absolute best of my knowledge :-) back in 1999 (when IWE was still at Infoworld). I know how far Linux has come.

We covered Redhat 6.2, Caldera 2.2, TurboLinux and SuSe (forget which one)

Cheers

Doug

New Maybe I've just been lucky.
But I've had no problems writing MS software or using any (including iFix - an HMI package w/a serial dongle key) under VMWare > 3.0 (The dongles wouldn't work w/2.x though).

bcnu,
Mikem
New Same here.
But, I still run Win2K in a VMWare box with no issues whatsoever.
