*sigh* WHAT problems with the square brackets??
foo[21] = piffle
What are you seeing instead? Square brackets are either a) a weecode, like [post://12345], or a user name, like [jake123].
[21] isn't anything, so it gets passed through. Or at least it should; you are indicating that it isn't. What is it doing instead?
Two ways to prevent square brackets from being interpreted: 1) uncheck the Process WeeCodes box or 2) use backslash escapes, like this: \\[foo]
Sorry I'm grumpy about this, but I keep seeing "feature X doesn't work" with absolutely no indication of WHAT it is that isn't working...

Ok...
was going to post a smartass response...and put brackets around "maybe" in the following statement...Zope Error.
So while I thought...
...that maybe there is no problem with brackets?
Maybe there is.
Possible that it is trying to interpret it as a weecode...and when finding no reference will error out?

Gee, you seem more bothered by the bug than me :-)
I think I finally have some sample text that will consistently crash Zope (or part of it). Is there an email address where I can send it? The backslash seems to work on the test, but I had weecodes unchecked the whole time without them. In theory, if weecodes are unchecked, then it should not try to do anything special with square brackets, correct?

Post it here please.
Using backslashes as necessary to ensure I can read the text. That is, post the text that will cause the error, but such that it shows up unprocessed in the post. Thanks.

I'm seeing a regression or something.
Hi Scott,
In [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=62117|this] post I get a Zope AttributeError if I change "..." to "[...]". I know you managed to fix this for me before. Perhaps this is related to Tab's problems.
I've got WeeCodes set to Aye.
I wouldn't worry about this much (at least not on my account). It's easy enough to start using "\\[...]" (Two \\ characters to get one to display.)
Cheers, Scott.

Arrrrg. I am switching from aluminum to tin hat
I did a last minute check on my "crash text" before posting it here, and now the sh8t does *not* crash.
I don't know what is going on. I give up.
I bet you finally found a way to get even for the funky gif I posted once :-P

Not this time.
Although I have been known to mess with people in exactly that fashion here. ;-)
This time, it seems to be a Real Live Intermittent Bastard Of A Bug. Bleh.
