I guess employees have really become a liablility... What a sad time for American business.

There seems to be a trend toward everybody becoming a free-agent. Job security is a dying phenom in the US, especially in something as volitile as IT.

The problem with consulting, which is what we have to turn to these days, is that the middlemen take a huge chunk. It is true that they find contacts and schmooz their way into the door. But their price for such a service is sky high.

Websites that give more direct access to freelancers have not been very successful. Thus, it is hard to get rid of the money sucking leaches in the middle. Candidate searches can be automated, but not schmoozing.

Mother always told me to be a dentist, but I don't like farking around in peoples' smelly mouths.
