I'm trying to track down something I swear I didn't dream up, but now am not so sure.
\r\n\r\nKnoppix, LNX-BBC, Tom's Root/Boot, etc., are all bootable Linux systems which run resident in memory and/or from a CDROM, without touching the hard disk.
\r\n\r\nI think I remember hearing about a similar concept coming from a French company, possibly, that does much the same thing except under MS Windows. It's a product they offer, not sure of terms...but the Google footprint (ten minutes+ of searching) is absolutely nil.
