New Re: Password management tools (storage/retrieval)
I'm looking for a good password management solution.

You've given up on your PalmPilot, for this. I haven't.

Keyring.
Strip.
KeyManager

All are included in [link|http://linuxmafia.com/pub/palmos/|[link|http://linuxmafia.com/pub/palmos/|http://linuxmafia.com/pub/palmos/]]. Personally, I really like Keyring.

(Look to the upstream source for Strip, if not the others. I know that the version I have at my site has been obsoleted by one that uses AES/Rijndahl, instead of IDEA.)
If you lived here, you'd be $HOME already.
New Close, but not quite on the money...
...my Palm Pilot's given up on my Palm Pilot for that. Screen went whacked a few weeks back. Some discussion suggests it's a remediable problem with the screen cable attachment point. I haven't been able to tease the case apart yet. That's with some trying, not tons. My one smallish phillips head doesn't grab the case screws.

What part of "gestalt" don't you understand?

New Radio Shack
(or other techie tools place - like Basham's Electronic Supply on College Ave. in SR = formerly Aardco) usually have sets of teeny screwdrivers in plastic cased assortment for a few $$. By now prolly YAN Made in China by 8 yos.

These may not be Snap-On grade, but still rather precise; I've found they last quite a while if one doesn't use a teeny on a medium-size torque need. And yes: Phillips does come in such sizes, along with Posi and the other cockamamie specialist types.

(But in a pinch - a small knife-blade can grab 2 of the 4 sides well-enough) As to how to crack the cases w/o also removing the small snap-in tongues ?? Sorry, no experience with Palm. Usually when there are screws too, though: you don't destroy the case with gentle prying. Usually.

Oh - it's also a good occasion to grab a can of whichever Caig\ufffd contact cleaner seems appropriate and maybe a few wood-stick Q-tips, canned air and such. (some things I usually think of after I get home)

Cheers,

Ashton

PS - many LCD screens use that *%&*% amber Kapton tough plastic with plated-on contact strips + a rubber backing to apply the pressure - last I heard, it's best to get as near CP (chem. pure not drugstore) isopropyl alcohol to clean those. I'd check First before using the HD cleaners like Caig on such materials. Their solvents might make jelly of an unobtainium part.
