I'll expand it and dump it to a floppy. Ooops, none of my Macs have floppy drives.

I realise you've already worked around the problem, by this point, but:

Got an x86 with a floppy drive? Got Linux on it? Install the hfsutils package, and you'll be able to copy the Macbinary-encoded download file onto a Mac-formatted 2MB floppy from there. (There's even a tk/tcl graphical front-end thing for that package.)

More than one way to remove that feline dermal layer.

I guess I was trying to avoid floppies all-together and since CD-R blanks don't cost all that much I just went for it.

Update:
I've got the system built now, but I must have futzed up /etc/fstab since it's looking for a ReiserFS root partition and I'm using ext3.

Oh, well, it's fun to geek out from time to time....
