New Telnet software...
for MacOS 8.3...

I know someone who is having difficulty finding a decent Mac telnet program to connect to a MUD. Any suggestions?

He's using BetterTelnet right now. Used NiftyTelnet, but it can't switch port numbers. He liked Rapscallion, but it's demo only and he's too cheap to pay the shareware fee. :-)

Thanks.

New Is something wrong with Better Telnet?

Just asking, since that was my telnet client of choice in my pre-X days. However, there is at least one telnet client that is specifically designed for MUDs...

[One quick look at VersionTracker later...]

Actually, it turns out that there are several MUD telnet clients available. I just searched on MUD in the Mac OS section and turned up about five. Has he tried any of these yet. A couple are beta, one is freeware and another is shareware.

is use [link|http://www3.sk.sympatico.ca/cknelsen/fixation/fixation.html|fixation].

Mind you that this was before I had learned much about computers. But as long as I ignored the useless chessboard, it did work just fine for rather generous values of work. :-)

Cheers,
