New 3Ware -- 7210 & 7500 card differences -- chache?
I'm looking for the deltas between the 7210 and 7500-4 3Ware Escalade cards. Rumor has it the 7500's got cache on board, but specs I [link|http://www.3ware.com/products/escalade.asp|can find] show nothing. Tom's HW is mum. Any y'all played with these toys?

New 3Ware -- 7210 & 7500 card differences -- cache?
While I was talking to 3Ware about this exact product back in February... It was stated to me that these cards are the same exact set of chipsets except they are the faster versions... Plus they have a better version of managment firmware and they finally have a good linux manager...

The firmware improvements and manager will end up in the older flashable cards... and the mgmt sftware will be usable.

Now, as far as there being cache... he never mentionsed that and actually said that the improvements are on the 12 drive capacity... and the faster processor.

New OK, refs, and possibly the 7450
What I've found regarding the cards is [link|http://newsvac.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=02/07/08/133205|here] (from VARLinux, BTW). Suggests that the onboard RAM is only 2-4 MB. Not much.

SCSI card we had here would've gone up to 64 MB, modern systems are far above that. Hmm... More hmmm... I'll post samples later.

You cannot do Raid 5 with 7210. I don't have the foggiest about the R5 Fusion technology. :)
