New New AmigaOne system runs MacOS 9.2

Or at least the owner claims it. It was done via MacOnLinux and YellowDog PPC Linux on the AmigaOne G3 hardware. He claimed to have taken a SCSI hard drive from his PowerMac that had MacOS 9.2 on it and it was able to work with MacOnLinux under Yellowdog Linux on the AmigaOne.

Not a Mac Clone, but one step closer to running MacOS on an Amiga.

New Still need the boot ROMs and/or Open Firmware
I'm no expert, but I think this is about as close as Amiga hardware will come to running MacOS.

Kind of a neat hack, though. A little bit like running Linux in Virtual PC on a Mac. (Which I've done. As long as you didn't run GNOME or KDE, it performed pretty decently.)

New Kind of a neat hack
as the Amiga One was not designed to run MacOS. I assume that the MacOnLinux software doesn't use the Amiga ROM or rather emulates part of a Mac ROM good enough to run the OS?

New My Athlon system runs MacOS 7.5
Via the [link|http://www.uni-mainz.de/~bauec002/B2Main.html|Basilisk II] 68K emulator of course. Much snappier than on the Performa from which I pulled the boot ROMS. System 7.5 is a free download from Apple.

New They even have an AmigaOS port of that
kind of neat. Only drawback is that it requires a Mac ROM to work.
