Famous last RPG quotes: "I'll just shoot this fireball down the dungeon passageway..."

But if the reports are true, that celebrants were firing into the air just as some planes were heading overhead, seems like the definition of "honest mistake." The DHL plane had a collision avoidance system on board, which U.S. regulators require for passenger aircraft and have ordered phased in for cargo planes. European aviation officials require similar equipment aboard commercial jets. Latest bit on the news is that the Russian jet was indeed also equipped with this "avoidance" system. Maybe someone ought to bring this system to the attention of the ABM boys in the Pentagon...
