A Poem for Our Time
Donald Trump's niece has written a book.
And I have given it a cursory look.
To all Trump supporters, I have this yearning,
To make it a gift to enable their learning.
But if I do that,
I'm left with the fact
All I'll be doing
Is encouraging book burning.
Trump supporters have chosen the Orange One to lead,
'Tis a pity so few of them read.
His supporters will vote for him again next Fall season,
Because a vanishingly small number of them can reason.
If Trump wins re-election, some will pick up the pieces,
But only those lucky enough to survive the diseases.
It's a shame Aristotle was correct when he wrote,
Democracy will fail when the uneducated vote.
Donald Trump's niece has written a book.
