The following doggerel is accordingly dedicated not to Mr. Macias, but rather to all the assholes who sneeringly defied and disregarded the precautions and social distancing before killing themselves and sundry others. You may warble it subvocally to the tune of a well-known ballad:

Regrets, I’ve had a few
But never with undue reflection
I partied with my crew
And ended up with an infection
I blew off the reports
Ignored the stuff those “expert” guys say
And now—I’ve screwed the pooch—
I died it my way.
