New Get a 'pulse oximeter" ...
Under: most intelligent analysis of {the std. poop) all have heard reiterated unto distraction} thus far.

Emergency physician in New Hampshire [Richard Levitan of Littleton (-something) Health Care] on Amanpour: examines the minuses of any long-term *usage of the $$ventillatore-machines, has data locally of an alternative, citing local outcomes.

* The total panoply /costs attending to intubated folk is astronomical; they are/must-be sedated; this means they do not move around (essential to access most of lung tissue, etc. They also have ureter tubes other invasive tubes demanding a raft of devices and attendants 24/7. Etc

Says: gives numbers--all on this-date Amanpour. Secondly: the Fed-guidelins (for rituals which say "go home, unless you are already low on oxygen intake is a FAIL, sayeth he. With a simple 'Pulse Oximeter' (around finger) you can observe your own situation: IF your $O2 level begins falling: Then you go in--you do Not 'wait until lips are bluish' (another guide re Fed propaganda)--thus gettiing direct on ventilator.

There are consumer-grade Oximeters out there; the hospital-grade is inevitably much costier; consumer grade accuracy is just fine, sayeth he.
tl;dr: if (Drook's fine phrase) your Circle has grown large-enough that you believe you must Think-outside that proverbial Box: check. it. out.
(I get Amanpour on TV); she's on PBS-web also too.

That is all.

:bevy-of-oTpys.. sloppy.

Alex

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Hah
Get a wife who is a nurse and carries all the gear.

As a smoker it seams I am "protected".

We'll see.
New Caveats:
1) the consumer ones haven't been available over a month; probably sitting in closets with all the hoarded TP,

2) the consumer ones aren't as useful if you don't have a baseline already.

You can also keep an eye on your pulse and breathing rate. If they are persistently higher than usual then you might have an issue, even if you feel fine.
