Too coincidental. It must be a fake. Bet NASA had a last-minute problem with the first Voyager flyby, and decided to cover it up by grabbing stuff from the deep bowels of the break-room fridge and photographiing it closely. They now have to purposely rot fruit for every new probe. They conveniently invented the "active volcano" story to explain why it is different on each pass because they could not get enough photos from different lighting angles during the first rushed session.
