I wasn't aware of this side of his views until very recently. He should have been fired a lot sooner, tbh. No cite, but it seems that the women on staff at MIT exploited his phobia of plants by having lots of the little green bastards in their offices, because it turns out that he's one creepy-ass motherfucker*.
My opinion of Stallman, up to this point, was related in entirety to technology and composed in equal measure of admiration for his uncompromising beliefs re: software licensing, and utter frustration that all the software that came out of this seemed designed to be as big a pain in the arse as possible, en route to delivering its functions.
