1) likely was the 'slingshot' -via-its massive-gravity which may well have sent the asteroid of Dinosaur-species-alterations: into Terra.
2) as re the multiple comet-in-pieces Event: may have prevented a (much Larger catastrophe on tiny-Terra) by snuffing that 'comet' forthwith.

But, as to 3) the homo-sap-caused current impending seppuku, thence homo-sap Decision-pending ... to stay-in-Denial? or To Act soon
