New North Carolina, again.

...

The Cherokee Guns’ owner, Doc Wacholz, has denied that the billboard on Route 64 outside Murphy is a deliberate provocation. “I’m not inciting any violence or being racist. It’s a statement. It’s an opinion,” he told the Asheville Citizen Times.

However, he then made racist and incorrect statements about the four leftwing congresswomen of color.

“They’re socialists, from my point of view. I also feel a couple of them, being Muslim, have ties to actual terrorists groups,” he said.

Believe it or not, 35 years ago Asheville was among my favorite cities (I know this isn't Asheville, but it is close to Asheville). I'm going to break my arm one of these days patting myself on the back for getting the hell out of there in 1986. It's one of the few instances where I saw it coming. :0(

New Know an Ashevillean..
But our association has been apolitical all along; she does Art ... but am tempted to ask, ~umm "just How Is It? being amidst--if not enmeshed in--the Local Zeitgeist".

(I also thought that 'her-Asheville' sounded halcyon). Guess it was the her not the 'Asheville' which grokked halcyon.. reeks of Pearls before Swine, sorta..
