New not sure... perhaps because it is a federally recognised monopoly like football? self regulating?

New So what? Has nothing to do with anything.
So is the U.S. Mail, but if one postal worker hits another in the face, he'll still be charged with assault. The regulation or non-regulation of your employer has fuck-all to do with whether it's legal to assault people. (Spoiler alert: Still illegal.)

So could you please stop it with the idiotic non-sequitur replies? Thank you.

New apparently you are confused, they let the league handle it
https://www.quora.com/Why-are-baseball-players-not-arrested-for-assault-when-they-charge-the-mound-and-start-a-fistfight-Anywhere-else-outside-of-the-game-they-would-be
Law enforcement generally allows the league to handle these events. Most would be classified as misdemeanor battery so punishments imposed by the league are greater than those a court could assess.

When players are suspended by a team or MLB they forfeit pay. A major league player on minimum wage loses more than $3000 for every game he’s ineligible to play. Jose Bautista’s one game suspension for the infamous fight with Roughned Odor cost him over $86,000

New FWIW that's a problem with our criminal system
When fines are set by law at a fixed amount, the super-rich don't even notice them.

New No, you are: That the lawlessness is systematic doesn't make it less lawless.
Where in the Constitution does it say "The law is enforced by the States, except if rich employers buy an exemption"?

Cop chiefs who signed on to that deal belong in prison along with the league officials who bribed them.
