Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Vector math for dummies.
Assuming I've got a velocity and a heading value, I need to derive dX,dY,and dZ values. My geometry is pretty horrible - I haven't touched it in about 8 years - and Google keeps bringing up stuff going the other way.

Yeah, I know that I could figure it out if I figured out COS, TAN, and SINE, but I want to UNDERSTAND, not just throw a formula at it. Anybody got some good geometry math sites?

New Not answering your request, but...
technically velocity includes both speed and direction.

New Okay, then...
Got that backwards. I meant SPEED, not VELOCITY. Ooops. :)

New Tip
This is not geometry. This is trigonometry.

Here's something google brought-up:

I think you may be missing the point of trig functions--they are more than just formulas you "throw" at the problem. They also form the notation used to express the relationships between angles and sides in right triangles.

New Yer right, of course...
...that's the problem with this stuff - it's Way Back There in The Olde Memory Machine - which is none too functional inside THIS head.

Helps to know the terms you're looking for BEFORE you go hunting for the stuff.
