New Is your laptop new enough to drive it at 4k?
I've got some ancient laptops that can't do it - maybe you've got something newer. But make sure. :-) One of my old Dell laptops would overheat driving 2 x 1080p monitors. :-/

I agree with Peter - Dell monitors have generally treated me well (I've got 3 each 24" + a 24" HP in a 2x2 array at home for 3 computers). But I only have 24s. I've got LG TVs at home that have been very good, so I would look at their monitors as well.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Scott.
New I've had weird experiences with laptops and big displays
My work laptop drives 2x 1080p displays all day every day - that's what's on my desk.

Bring it home, and it'll cheerfully run the 4K telly in the living room.

But shits blue bricks when it encounters the 1440p display in my office.

Go figure. It's a 2018 Dell Latitude with a recent-ish Intel display chip.
