If you have a hundred minutes to spare, this wonderful 1979 television adaptation of Ursula K. Le Guin’s novel—I first saw it upon its initial broadcast this at around time thirty-nine years ago—is well worth the time. An ultra-low budget production is more than redeemed by a thoughtful, intelligent, faithful screenplay.
Do not look at the hideous 2002 remake, which the author properly execrated.
cordially (Antwerp!),
