Reverent Beauty: The Met’s Armenia Show Is One for the Ages

The Metropolitan Museum of Art gives the blockbuster treatment to Armenia, the oldest Christian country in the world.
Alex

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Yes, it's an amazing set of devotional works . . .
. . but the Pagans blame Christianization for Armenia's fall from power. In pre-Christian times, Armenia stretched as far as from the Mediterranean to the Caspian Sea, and north almost to the Black Sea. It was a power to be respected.

At the end of WWI, the Brits were supposed to draw the new borders, but they didn't get around to it - so Turkey drew their own borders, taking more than half of Armenia.
New Whenever the story starts with "Britain drawing borders" it always ends in genocide
