I'm trying to create an image that's the words "baseball bat" in the shape of a baseball bat. This is probably trivial in PS, but I've only got Gimp, and what tutorials I've found are pretty tedious. Anybody got something that can do this quickly?
Need some Photoshop help - Rand, you around?

An alternative...
If Rand isn't available. It looks like you can probably do what you want with Inkscape. Maybe take a look at the first few minutes of this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9t84ruLFZXY HTH a little. Good luck! Cheers, Scott. |

Blocky shapes like that are pretty easy
Complex curves, not so much. And it's entirely manual in all the ones I've seen. -- Drew |

That is a nice one
One thing I've found is that the path deformations do not like sharp transitions. It is possible to use a cusp node for the transition between knob and barrel but I couldn't prevent spikes on the B. For that, one may have to split the text in B and ASEBALL BAT... |

Yeah, realized I should do at least the little end separately
Might give that a shot. -- Drew |
