New so left orlando yesturday to drive back to biloxi
got as far as Perry FL and new we were approaching the eastern extent of Michael's reach. Filled with Gas enough to get to Mobile AL
Interstate 10 had just been re-opened so started driving west. Miles of Pine trees sawed off and blown over. Kudo's to FDOT for clearing the interstate, there was a lot of debris. After a few miles needed to use a restroom, pulled off in quincy FL where we had spent the night on the way down. All of the Interstate gas stations were closed. Drove further and saw a rest stop. It was somewhat open, looked like like a warzone. Of course there was no water or electricity so the toilets could not be flushed. Picture hundreds of travelers dropping load after load with no ability to flush. Strictly not for the faint of nose. MJ walked into the womens and walked right back out. Asked he if she wanted an escort behind the downed trees but she stated no. Got to the outskirts of Pensacola FL before there was electricity available. Truly a devastating storm. Luckily not on a huge population center.

DailyBeast: No Food, No FEMA

The BBC was saying earlier that there were a million homes without power, so lots and lots of people are affected even though no huge city was hit.

Cheers,
Scott.
