New On 'Autoline'/TV today: "Saving Lives Through Automotive Technology"
Panel of four ept researchers; quite promising results chronicled, plus extrapolation to '5G'.. next possibilities.
Ex: when they shave 1/2 second from response time, rough estimate is that 60% of [probable to certain accidents] could 'shortly' be eliminated. (They Are accumulating stats re actual data to date, natch.)

Catch this if your Boob Tube schedules; or, Here's their kinda bizarre site; for Autoline This Week.

New Autoline *this week*: "They don't Want to pay for the gewgaws.."
..of the kind: designed for a brain-dead 'driver' who wants to text a jillion acquaintances while the car does the Actual-"intelligence". In a "Nut"shell:

Queried what wannabe customers wanna Pay ~ One Tenth of the mfg. cost of such things as Lidar cha. cha. cha. (and maybe a bit better on the still-not-cheap Emergency Braking™ level of Carz-for-the Easily Distracted pilot.

Go figure er, "Value" -vs- cost-then-Price and like that. (Ya saved a half hour listening to the "rationales of bizness attempting to 'market their warez".) Be glad.
(Or be smart and buy Used; it'll Be That once you hit the road from the Dealer.)

PS: heard a while back re a certain Kia? likely: that a front end crash of this model costs ~$22K, 26K? to REPAIR: all those transistors on glass-epoxy boards are arrayed In The Front!
..so then ya accidentally tap the gas pedal parking and ... OK maybe it's only $$10 Gs for that tiny Oooops.)
(er, cha. ... cha. ... Cha.)

Is the entire fucking-World! now a basket-case, ignited by Muricans and their clones?
