New Are off-brand magnetic chargers - eg: for Apple watch - dangerous?
I've seen the tear-downs and tests of off-brand cables and chargers, and know that they can seriously damage your electronics. But how about the induction ones? Does the fact that they're not physically connected have any bearing on whether they're safe to use?

New Depends on whether you care about your house or not
We have had a few off-brand chargers that became inordinately hot, which I assume is independent of whether they are induction or not.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New s/magnetic//
is a better question.

I go for brands I trust - e.g. Anker - and haven't burned down my house/car yet.

The risk is not the part that actually charges your phone; it's in the part that transforms mains (240VAC here in the UK, 110VAC in Trumpistan) into something that won't instantly explode your phone. We call this part the "transformer" :p, and quality varies wildly.
