These are Mr. Wells' Eloi ... distrusting the science (which keeps them somewhat alive-ish) despite the facts strongly suggesting that their Corporate Franken-food Favs (-in-crinkly-plastic bags) are a great contributor to maladies. Then there's the endless cornucopia of palliating comfort-toys, many of which might reveal more of how the place they live in, works--(but only the curious ever go there.
Maybe it is the 'dead curiosity' which bears the most inspection; imagine a POTUS so bereft of any desire to actually learn something--a one who is reported to have genuine problems in the mere act of 'reading'--literally "Faking" everything in his environment. At least por moi, this is the sort of ugliness which has nothing to do with physiognomy. And the folk in that brief/not well-done CNN flic are fucking-Ugly.
The techno-artisans have given these-all a surfeit of shiny glass beads but they know-not/care-not what 'glass' is (don't even Thimk of explaining it as a "super-cooled liquid", Bunkie) but they do have a fondness for 'beads'.. which were so useful in stealing the entire real estate from its owners then (except those folk were so wise that they never considered that You Could/should "own "Land".) etc.

The chasm surely has widened since St. Ronnie whispered into super-willing ear-pans: Greed is Good. Now Drumpf's Dunces, apparently the Muricapithecus: are now the natural-Enemy of any remaining chances to reduce over-population and try to reverse the neglect and outright vandalism ... just as Carl Sagan opined, ~~ whatever it is you want to do, you can't do it without breathable air and drinkable water. These ARE the Enemy of the Good, so likely it is my duty to despise them, a duty I mean not to shirk.
Carrion ..sometimes it looks a lot like a bunch of young white-guys + torches, sometimes like old white guys with gavels. In either case it might taste better ..were it first well-tenderized before cooking.
