Looking at the clip, I think she was already on the ground when she came to the power lines. If those lines had actually be in her approach path, I think the pictures would likely be of the aircraft upside down (at best). Still, very well done on her part not to clip a car or two! There's no comparison to the LA basin of course, but the airport near my office that I used to fly into pretty regularly had houses, streets, a shopping center and power lines all around it. The instructors I flew with used to describe it as "a 360 degree kill zone." :0)

But even in that case, if you could glide 5 miles you had open fields to land in. Not true in So Cal.
