re early history of psilocybin etc., critique of the (still) dismal state of Murican progress in (anything psychological) since late '80s ... and those [Prozac, say] are about as dismal in efficacy ..as the placebos

They said: that on their new-fangled Podcast, there's more detail re history of these substances.

PS: Michael Pollan, the Food guy is author of book being dissected, this session.

New There's good progress being made though
J&J is considering getting FDA approval for a ketamine-based anti-depression drug which is performing miracle relief on a sizable subset of people afflicted with the disease.
