The Tick is in a bodega when two criminals show up for their weekly protection payment. He won't let them take the money, while the proprietor is trying *really hard* to give it to them.

As he chases them out the door, guy says, "What are you doing? They're going to kill me!"

"Not on my watch! ... Well, I've got to go now."
