New “The Most Dangerous Man in America”
A chum who is a member dragged me to an event at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco to hear a talk delivered by the co-authors of a new book, The Most Dangerous Man in America, about the Nixon administration’s persecution of Timothy Leary from 1969 forward.

It was an interesting evening. Your Humble Narrator was handed the microphone at one point in the Q&A session, and I believe that in the course of the podcast he weighs in at about the fifty-nine minute mark. But it was an interesting talk absent my impertinent contribution.

cordially,
New So, acid gave us Apple?
That explains much. Thanks.

It's mourning in America again.
New Re: So, acid gave us Apple?
Not just Apple. A lot of the researchers at a couple of influential labs—Doug Englebart’s crew at SRI and John McCarthy's Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory—who laid the groundwork for what would become the “personal computer revolution” were, according to the book, doing acid at the time, and certainly their work, whether or not enhanced, as the author claims, by ergot-derived insights, found its way by and by to your desktop. See, if you have not already, Englebart’s Mother of All Demos from almost half a century ago.

cordially,
New Whether "enhanced" or not, are we truly the better for their work? I'm unconvinced.

New Friend D. had personal contacts re TL ..back in the day.
She knew an 'attendant' who oversaw his lengthy stays in immersion-chambers (with calc. doses of Ketamine to, umm assist the neurons? into "expansive-mode" ... or something like that.

Alas.. alack ... ... I cannot run this by her, as she departed this now Full-Chicken-Outfit ~ 5am Monday 2-26. Am sure she could have contributed to the C Club narrative; she was a long-term scholar of esoterica re humans, their illusions and ... the usual Searches for a soupçon-of-Truth amidst the incessant banal biped blatherscaping.
Shall pulse the podcast as and when, but anon.
