A derelict house was dumped on a vacant south Auckland site, setting back development for a new retail centre.

The graffiti-covered dwelling appeared overnight on a lot on Manuia Rd, Takanini on November 18 or 19.


And as far as the neighbors noticing: in the '90's, during the first solar energy push, the State of VT put up a good sized installation outside the Middlesex State Police barracks. About 6 months later, during a long weekend, the panels were lifted sight unseen. The cops didn't notice until Monday morning. (Suspicion at the time was that the crew loosened all fasteners Saturday night, then filched the panels Sunday night.)
