New Looking for a recipe
A co-worker brought stuffed cabbage to a potluck yesterday. I want to make it, but he's been doing it for so long he doesn't measure so can't give me a recipe. He's from Jordan, so this is a Middle Eastern version.

Ingredients:
cabbage leaves
lemon
rice (uncooked)
turmeric
cumin
black pepper
red fresh pepper
olive oil

Mix the fillings together while boiling the cabbage for 3-4 minutes. Roll the filling in leaves in a slow cooker. Cover with water. Cook on low until the water is all absorbed.

If I were cooking something in a skillet I'd just wing it and adjust as I go. But this has to all go together then I don't know if I got it right until a half-hour later when it's too late to fix. Any suggestions for amounts?

New It looks kinda like Malfouf
But those seem to have meat (or vegetarian equivalents). I don't see that in your list.

So, I dunno.

But maybe that will help with your search?

HTH a little.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Thanks, good starting point
I asked my coworker what it's called and he said, "Just stuffed cabbage". OK then.

New What you're looking for is:
Mihshi Malfuf Bi Zayt (or Biz Zat)

It is a meatless cabbage roll from Lebanon / Jordan.

Of course, the two recipes I have will not be exactly what he provided as no two households are likely to make it quite the same.
