You did? Sorry, if you did I must have missed it. Could you re-state it in ordinary English, please?

Fair enough..
Mighta known you'd want the LONG-form, wherever your opinion is not tacitly agreed-to, ;^> 0) I didn't contrive this quip, 'twas via an accidental notice in a linked er, Tweet, is it? 1) This was in the Humor slot. 2) Readers (here) are by-definition aware of "rounding"-as-in-Duh. 2a) WHETHER to "round-up/down" (as is so appropriate in most.. but not all) ordinary cases? OR 2b) Treat the code as expandable, a. ? ~~Paean to its random-infinite series? ... a matter which most 𝛑 users likely, rarely ponder. But I do. Math is ALL ABOUT the PUNCTILIOUS, had you noticed? Recall when you forgot that ..and your paper did not have an 'A' on it? In any event: it DOES call for a *Consideration=DECISION of the Author/not moi, as to which audience his opus was aimed-at. Further, as anyone who has ever bit-twiddled digital math Knoze: there ARE cases where you do Not want to ROUND, depending on the LOGIC of that program-snip. (Big/Little-Endians anyone? for sample-arcanery.) * ..and is it not the POINT of those [n+∞] Math-based Puzzles: to force you to thimk/sic/ with precision somewhat-Beyond ... your mundane, rote Habits, Bunkie? You want me to say that ... most times you Round. Likely true, that "opinion". And I demur, because it is a --> MATHEMATICAL decision. It seems that the Author agrees with moi. En fin: TO ROUND or NOT-TO-ROUND, in MATH: bloody-well-DEPENDS. Carrion Will be 'ere (most of) all week. |

I particularly liked the "en fin".
Since you, Ash, have previously demonstrated knowledge of the correct spelling of "Finn"(*), I'm choosing to interpret it as a (well-deserved) dig at the Grand Moff. --- (*): Not that I am one. Again, _you_ probably knew that. -- Christian R. Conrad Same old username (as above), but now on iki.fi (Yeah, yeah, it redirects to the same old GMail... But just in case I ever want to change.) |

Wait, I can't tell ...

With you, flirting, always. Ash, alas, is too old...

Terribly sorry about that. I didn't even notice my mistake until it was remarked upon.
But the point stands. If you actually prefer the blended barf we have here over Glenfiddich, then you simply don't know how to drink properly. bcnu, Mikem It's mourning in America again. |

Reading comprehension totally zero? I only "prefer" it for the extra letter.
One more than "coffee" or "whisky". (Because Pi rounds to 3.1415927, not 3.1415926.) -- Christian R. Conrad Same old username (as above), but now on iki.fi (Yeah, yeah, it redirects to the same old GMail... But just in case I ever want to change.) |
