New Forgot my password for phone
I use the fingerprint to access. It's been months since I logged in. And then it wanted to update and reboot.

Please enter pass.
Again and again. Until I had one try left until lockout.

Took a shower, relaxed, and thought of one final pass to try.

Access granted.

Phew.
New That's the definition of a close one! :)

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Is there a fallback?
What happens if you did screw up the last password? Is the phone bricked? Is there a way to get the thing reset? I don't know enough about phones to replace the passwords like I would on a pc. It seems there should be a way; throwing away an expensive piece of hardware because of typing/memory glitches seems extreme.

New Not bricked, but factory reset
There is an additional possible method of login using Gmail name and pass. But again, so rarely done, I could have screwed that up. Time to start writing passwords down.
