New PBS/American Masters does Sidney Lumet
Here.
Prolific and versatile filmmaker Sidney Lumet (1924-2011) made 44 films in 50 years, earning the Academy Honorary Award for lifetime achievement after four Oscar nominations. Considered a quintessential New York filmmaker, Lumet frequently used New York City’s urban mettle to infuse his films with a realism and intensity that kept audiences in suspense while prodding them to consider their own morality. In American Masters: By Sidney Lumet, he tells his own story in a never-before-seen interview shot in 2008 by late filmmaker Daniel Anker and producer Thane Rosenbaum. With candor, humor and grace, Lumet reveals what matters to him as an artist and as a human being.

So then, no need to paraphrase, as the sequence ... running through Fail safe, Twelve Angry Men rubs all our noses in such ineffables as Justice, Truth and then ... The Murican Way.

(He doesn't come right out and Call this tribe a bunch of shitty/shifty-eyed poseurs, sanctimonious hypocrites and ..you know all that stuff.)
[Apropos of none such Thing, of course: the Factoid that Roy. fucking. Cohn was an esteemed confidante of the inevitable-next Prez..] wait..
What's That mofo doing amidst Mr. Lumet's excoriations of our entire Tribe!?

OK I can't read PBS's timing of this opus but, if so inclined--44 films/50 years--worth a gander, eh?
New We saw part of it last night. Very compelling television and well worth the time.

He said, "Listen, shrimp. Don't you come trolling around here." What a crab. This guy was steamed. I could see the anchor in his eyes.
