New Winter is warming up in Poland
For the last 3 days, protester objecting to the government's ongoing efforts to concentrate power in the hands of the Executive branch have been blocking access to the Parliament buildings. So far, the situation is still peaceful, but with the PM labeling reporters "hooligans" and the protesters "terrorists", things are starting to look similar to the start of the Ukraine mess. Rival rallies were planned for today, so peace & quiet may be on their way out.

New Right wing populism is a sad thing to look at.
But, indeed, a free press is a prerequisite for a free people. The Poles are no dummies and I hope they get to keep a free press.

Trump's constant attacks at our press here is a bad sign as well. Not that the press should go scot-free of criticism from the rest of us.
