Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Touchbar? Ugh...
HP had those on the 65xx/67xx series (~2007). It contained toggles for WiFi, screen and volume controls, ... Dust and dirt really stood out on it, inviting users to just swipe across and clean it. Inevitably followed by screams of anguish and despair as the thing went apeshit for minutes before becoming halfway usable again :-/
New Bleargh.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New The trick is to do it with something that won't register as a touch.
On modern touch-screens, sleeves are often good for this.

Wade.
New I've got some gloves that are useless for my Nexus 4 phone... :-(
New Telepathy?

On some, just touching the laptop anywhere was enough to set things off :-/ Luckily, the series we had wasn't that obnoxious.
New Wow.
I hope the Apple engineers made an extra-special point of not repeating the grounding mistakes HP did!

Wade.
New I remember a story about OS/2 and touching a certain part of the laptop ...
