New Anyone catch Buckley -vs- Vidal reprise on PBS? (Best of Enemies)
pbs.org/independent lens ... says it has more stuff. Vidal called a spade a spayed in terms only recently seeming capable of drilling through the dead-stubborn brain-cases of the Lured.

As asserted by this presentattion {wherein crypto-fascist enters the vocab of the vox pop..} this was an early example of the morphing of the Moneyed Class's tactics towards the ever-since unremitting class warfare via the successful obfuscation of the actual 1% Welfare State (not Their characterization.)

Seminal year, yet again: 1968 ... when it all raced toward pear-shaped; never Could comprehend how--through his barrage of arcane little-used/thus incomprehensible verbiage--Buckley could baffle-them-with bullshit ... all within the most anti-intellectual kultur since the invention of the Fascist slogans, just a few decades past.

{sigh} collective Alzheimers, I suppose. Murica: THE Y.P.B. Collective.
New Those were the days.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
