'The Armor of LIght'
A 1.5 hr. Independent Lens/PBS presentation.
One must suspend disbelief sufficiently to see through the eyes of Evangelicals ... in particular the cognitive dissonance of being both
A) Dedicated to preserving Life via all imaginable means, while..
B) Being content with blowing-away this or that Black-Hat-ergo-Evil-One because
... because 2nd Amendment + FLA's bizarre over-kill Stand-Your-Ground: as you preen that Ego in the certain knowledge that *You* Are a 100% White-Hat, just doin' God'sWork
** because: Jesus, of course.
Believe it's worth the 90 min. investment, as the juxtaposition of Second Amendment {cha. cha. cha.} -VS- that Christian Second Commandment {cha. cha. cha.} is a priceless pair of metaphors for our Times of vast mental derangement plus way-too-many microphones distributed to too-many Kristol-class mental midgets and ... well, you know.
The Pastor in the mix, the Mother ..are as as intelligent as moi or you'unses and are clearly taking seriously this--once ever Noticed--clear philosophical muddle, that wherein political bloviation/repetition has become mixed-up with whatever passes for a one's [ethical-Sense, of whatever capacity.]
My guess: a series with similar sane-actors and different angles upon just this Very-evident example of mental vacuity-in-action: just might widen a precious few links across the current Chasm-of-Non-communication as appears to be simply insurmountable.
