A report from the heartland of American manufacturing (ie Taiwan) suggests that production of 17 inch and 19 inch versions of the new iMac will begin in Q3 this year.
Sweet if true.

New Then I will own one.
My wife already green-lighted the purchase by saying "Ooh...thats cute!..and it takes up so little space...why can't you get rid of those other ones" ;-) when she saw her bother's new one.

I've been playing around with OSX quite a bit on that machine...I'm starting to like it. Haven't tried compiling to their kernel yet...wondering if anyone else has had any success getting bsd sources to run on it.

I hope that means they'll update the DVD software to let us create anamorphic(16:9) DVDs; after all, it's just a single flag on the disk denoting 4:3 or 16:9.

I sent them an email during their request for "PC user feedback". I said that I'd purchased an HDTV and was eyeing the iMac to make DVDs, but that the lack of 16:9 DVD support was holding up my purchase.

New What they need to do
is make the iPuck, a little dome that you can attach any monitor you want to it. Want those 25 inch monster monitors, go right ahead!
