Thunderbird said it was looking for the mail server, but never logged in. No connection via the web interface, either. A web NSLookup found the IP address Ok, and I was able to ping it, and I was able to connect via the IP address. Google's DNS server at 8.8.4.4 dropped my e-mail provider for some reason. Using my ISP's DNS got things working again. Weird. Cheers, Scott.
Post #406,419 by scoenye 11/22/15 11:07:59 AM Reply	There were issues yesterday L3 suffered backbone fiber cuts near Dallas and Chicago. I don't know how Google has their DNS organized, but a short expiration time and not being able to reach the delegate DNS may have caused some records to expire from the cache.
