Promising Pathway To Counteract Aging

There is a chemical called TGF-beta1 which depresses stem cell activity, causing lowered cell regeneration. This chemical, which seems to be produced by the immune system in response to chronic inflammation, can be suppressed by a new drug. The results appear to show anti-aging effects.

Inflammation seems to be a common problem in many diseases. While this anti-aging drug looks like it could be a thing, I suspect that attacking the root problem, inflammation, would have the widest benefit.
