I bought a handful for a dollar. 2 weeks later it sucked enough nitrates and blocked enough sun to change the murky algea filled water to crystal clear. I corralled it to cover about a third of the pond. After that I'd use the fish net scooper to pull out the excess. Daily. It doubles in size daily.
