Lenovo PCs ship with man-in-the-middle adware that breaks HTTPS connections [Updated]

I recall that the Chinese bought the Name of a once-classy marque; is this expected behavior now?
(I don't keep up with velocity of money hacking, but youse guys Do.)
Even moi can see that--if proven to extent claimed here--this ought to be a deal-breaker for any former fans of the real-Lenovo™
