New "The World We Live In"
A good book? Are you kidding? A wonderful compendium of the subject as understood ca. 1955, lavishly illustrated and very well written. Many elements have been (quite properly) overtaken in detail by subsequent research, but much remains broadly relevant, and i would not hesitate to make this available, with a few cautions, to my great-nieces/nephews.

Yeah, the cognitive dissonance is available already: No Ebola vaccine? Waaah! Obambi demonstrates again that he's not up to the job! Measles vaccine? Waaah! Obama-bin-Laden wants to inject us all with Islamic germs! Sheesh.
New Ah, Time-Life Books.
My dad had a big collection of those things. E.g. Library of Art. Wonderful stuff.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Scott.
New a bit of blog-whoring
