New "Life on Mars" (UK original)
Watching this for the second time with equal pleasure. Premise: Manchester police detective in 2006 suffers blunt-force trauma in auto accident; regains consciousness as Manchester police detective in 1973, and somewhat confused by this condition. The fact that he dreams of 2006 doctors speaking to him as though he's comatose in the present century does not help him to sort matters out. The protagonist has a hard time reconciling the technologies, procedures and attitudes he's accustomed to with their earlier equivalents. Much fun ensues—doesn't it?

cordially,
New Neat ... where are you seeing it?

On home optical DVD players.

cordially,
New One of John Simm's best and most well-known roles.
His other being, of course, The Master on Doctor Who.

Wade.
New Saw several episodes, way-back..
Agree.. intriguing. Reminds that it was On Air: just one of the losses of arcane ergo interesting fare, never to be seen on homogenized Comcast.
(Nor could I guess how that dream-time-travel did come about, never mind 'could' come about; neat McGuffin though.)
New There's a point at which
...the 1973 DCI is shot by a deranged man. We are invited to assume that he has been killed, but he sits up and produces a bullet-dented flask from his jacket. "What are the odds?" one of his admiring subordinates exclaims. "Pretty good, actually," the DCI observes, producing another three or four flasks from around his person.

cordially,
New "Ashes to Ashes" (UK original): the sequel
Not so good. Or have I mentioned this elsewhere?
